The Order of Ghaldron TerraceAbout the Order: We are a small, unique group of adventurers, diverse in our abilities yet alike in our hope for prosperity. Members of the Order demonstrate that heroes can be both mighty and small. Together we search for the legendary Golden Tree of Ghaldron which is embroidered on our cape. Besides our pursuit for the Golden Tree, we fight honorably alongside allies across the world, never quite knowing what battles and quests to expect. I'm proud to announce that I will be unveiling a brand new GuildWars Roleplaying website, just in time for GuildWars 2. In fact, it will be before GuildWars 2, since that... won't be released for quite a while. *ahem* Anyway, here are some previews of what the site will look like. Note however, that there is no content, and the site design is not finalized or completed yet. 
Of the things that I'm incredibly excited about, here's a list of things we'll be bringing to the table right away, or shortly after unveiling: - RP guild section. This will list all guilds who wish to be found, with an attractive block layout, displaying a guild icon and some basic information about each guild. It will be searchable.
- Character bio section. Just like guilds, it will display an avatar or icon, and at-a-glance info. The full bio page will be linked, and will contain the entire bio along with any backstory the author deems necessary.
- Lore section. This will contain categorized listings of RP lore, submitted by the community. Yes, that's right, it won't be in a forum! That means it will be easier to post, and easier to find lore about your favorite GuildWars RP characters.
- Forum. This seems like a no brainer. But I assure, I'm very excited to unveil a very impressive integrated forum solution for Joomla, called FireBoard. See the screenshot above for a preview.
- FAQs. This will contain FAQs to help newbs get into GuildWars, and find ways and places to RP.
- Calendar of Events. We'll have a community calendar of events, with all the categories you need to guarantee your events can be separated from the rest, and found easily. We'll have RSS and iCal imports and exports, so the whole community will be able to share events.
I think you get the picture. The idea here is to bring the community together like never before. The first thing you'll notice is that our site will likely rise to the #1 google rank for just about any search with "guild wars" and "roleplay" in it. This is because GuildPortal doesn't do a good job with compliance and SEO, and tends to be heavily modded down by google bots. (If you're reading this, you probably found it by searching those terms in google, and this lone Joomla guild site--got.iconium.org--is already at the top of the list, without even trying). |

We will be meeting at GoT's guild hall this Saturday morning: October 6 at 9 AM Central (GMT -6) We will meet up for some light RP and maybe even some questing in Ascalon (to help a member progress in the Prophecies campaign). |
